Chris began his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he studied with Betsy Taylor for 2 years as part of the Junior Conservatoire and then a further 4 years for his BMus(Hons) degree. He then moved to Manchester to study with Victoria Simonsen at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for his MMus. Since completing his studies, Chris enjoys a varied freelance career playing with multiple string quartets, trios and larger ensembles.

 

He has worked with many groups including the RSNO, Manchester Camerata, Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, Cantilena string players and the Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble. Chris is also an instrumental instructor for the Edinburgh Council, a session musician and writes/arranges his own music.
