Seona grew up in Port of Menteith in the Trossachs, where she began playing violin at the age of 11. At age 17, following two years of study with Justine Watts, Seona moved to Manchester to study at the Royal Northern College of Music.

At the RNCM Seona studied violin with Steve Wilkie and graduated with a first class degree. Seona then returned to Scotland to complete a Master of Music degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she studied with Maya Iwabuchi, also receiving lessons from Greg Lawson and Joseph Swensen.

Seona now lives in Glasgow where she enjoys a varied career comprised of performing, teaching and community music. Seona is a keen chamber musician and orchestral player; she has performed as a freelancer with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and has played in side-by-side rehearsals with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the Scottish Ensemble. Seona loves making music with people in a wide variety of styles and contexts, and is proud to be completing her training as a Music Practitioner with Paragon Ensemble.
